Strange Calculus

Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 August 2026.

This policy covers this website, strangecalculus.com, and nothing else. It does not cover the apps Strange Calculus publishes. Each of those has its own policy, because each one makes specific, checkable claims about its own code:

What this site asks you for

Nothing. There are no accounts, no forms, no comments, no search box, and no newsletter signup on any page here. There is nothing to fill in, so nothing is submitted and nothing is stored about you as a result of reading these pages.

Cookies, analytics, and other sites

No cookies are set. Not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything. Nothing here asks for cookie consent because there is no cookie to consent to.

There is no analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no tracking pixel, no tag manager. These pages load no JavaScript at all, which is enforced rather than merely intended: the site is served under a Content-Security-Policy of default-src 'none', so a script added by mistake would be refused by your browser rather than run.

Nothing on these pages is loaded from another company. The stylesheet and the one image come from this domain. There are no web fonts, no embedded video, no social buttons, and no third-party scripts, so no other company learns that you visited.

What the server records anyway

This is the part that is easy to leave out of a page like this, so it gets its own section.

The content delivery network serving this site writes an access log entry for every request, the way essentially every website does. Each entry contains:

Those logs are stored in the same Amazon Web Services account that serves the site, and they are deleted automatically 30 days after they are written. They are not joined to anything else, not sold, not shared with anyone, and not used to build a profile of you or of anybody. In practice they are looked at when something is broken.

Saying "this site collects nothing" would be simpler and would not be true.

Email

The two addresses on the support page reach a mailbox at this domain. If you write to one, then your message, your email address, and anything you choose to put in the message sit in that mailbox until they are answered, and for as long as the mail stays there afterwards. Nothing is added to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.

Mail for this domain is handled by an outside mail provider, so a message you send is stored on that provider's servers as well as being read in a mail client. That is true of every email you have ever sent, and it is noted here because it is the one place where something you send passes through a company other than this one.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions on this site.
