Strange Calculus

Support

Email is the whole support system. There is no ticket portal, no chatbot, and no account to log into first.

Questions about an app:

Anything about data or privacy:

Replies usually come within a few days. It is one person, so a weekend can stretch that.

Name the app in the subject line

These two addresses cover every app published here, so the subject line is what sorts the mail. The quickest way to get that right is to write from the app's own support page — Anchorframe, VanessaCharge, VanessaExplore — because the link on each of those already puts its app in the subject.

Each of those pages also says what to include for that app, which is more useful than anything general that could be written here.

Reporting a privacy or security problem

Use the privacy address and name the app in the subject. If you believe an app sends data somewhere its privacy policy does not mention, that contradicts the policy and is worth knowing about before anyone else finds it.

Common questions

Why one address instead of one per app?

Because every app that ships gets its own domain, and an address on each of those would mean a mailbox, a set of mail records, and a renewal date to forget on every one. One address at this domain costs the same whether there are three apps or ten. The trade is that the subject line has to do the sorting, which is why the links above fill it in.

Is this address different from the one on an app's site?

No. Every app's support page points back here. There is one mailbox, and reaching it from an app's own page is only a way of getting the subject line filled in for you.

What happens to an email after you read it?

It sits in a mailbox and is answered. It is not fed into a ticketing system, a CRM, an analytics tool, or a mailing list, because there are none of those. The privacy policy covers what this site collects, which is separate from what you choose to put in an email.
